The Treatment – Rescheduled Date//Tickets still valid
Sons Of Icarus//White Pigeon//Indigo Rose
At a time when so much rock music is defined according to a specific genre or sub-genre, it’s refreshing for a new band to come along who are both happy and proud to be called simply ‘rock’… and when that band are just 18 years old, then the project becomes very exciting indeed: classic sounds filtered through young hearts an’ minds. A five-strong outfit based in the Cambridge area of the UK, The Treatment are indeed tender in years, but you’d never guess that from the quality of their song-writing or the confident swagger of their live show. It’s only really the exuberance and in-built energy of their playing that gives the game away, adding a fresh-faced twist to some deeply classic grooves. Combining the drive of early Def Leppard with the song-writing ability of prime UFO and Thin Lizzy, the whole thing underpinned by the sort of low-slung riffing redolent of early Aerosmith or G n’ R, The Treatment are unashamedly inspired by an era when rock bands looked like rock bands and were generally intent on causing a stir (both onstage and off); an era when the lifestyle was important, when music was everything and when vinyl was king.

Arkafta (formerly Joshua Edwards & The Language)
Animal Kingdom//The Bayonettes
Arkafta (pronounced ark after and formerly known as Joshua Edwards & The Language) are an indie rock band scattered from all over the Country, from Devon to Surrey. With gripping musical technicalities and lyrics the band grasp spectators with their every whim. Scrapping their first attempt at their debut EP and testing out their new sound. Their dedication to themselves and their fan base grows at a phenomenal rate.
Animal Kingdom are a three piece comprising Richard Sauberlich (Vocals/Guitar/Piano), Hamish Crombie (Bass), Geoff Lea (Drums). Their debut album ‘Signs and Wonders’ was recorded by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes/The Shins) in Seattle and released on Warner Brothers in 2009.
The first single ‘Tin Man’ was Itunes ‘Single of the Week’ and Itunes named them ‘Best New Alternative Act’. Support tours with Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, Snow Patrol and Silversun Pickups followed, as well as numerous festival appearances in the UK and Europe. Songs taken from the album were synched on various feature films and TV shows including ‘Never Let Me Go’ (staring Keira Knightly) and HBO’s ‘Big Love’.
The NME has described them as: ‘Achingly beautiful celestial indie…Will have Sigur Ros quivering with envy.’
The Fly Magazine said: ‘Their live presence is a resounding and cinematically cosmic experience…Their debut swells with spiritually melancholic masterpieces’
XFM’s Jon Kennedy named ‘Chalk Stars’ his ‘Song of the Year’. And Radio 1’s Zane Lowe called ‘Chalk Stars’ ‘a stunning piece of music’.
The band write and rehearse in an old church in North London. They’ve just completed their second album – with Bat For Lashes/Everything Everything producer David Kosten and are signed to Universal in Germany and BoomBox in the US. They are managed by QPrime for the World.
The first single to be taken from their new album will be STRANGE ATTRACTOR.

Romeo Must Die
Subsilence//For(n)ever After
On 2nd May 2011 ROMEO MUST DIE released their blistering debut album, ‘HARDSHIPS IN SEASON’.
Eighteen months in the making, this album has been quite a journey for the band that has endured an onslaught of misfortune as vocalist Adam Frakes-Sime explains. “We began writing in 2009, and good progress was being made when Paul our guitarist was involved in a road traffic accident and was hit by a truck. He was in intensive care for some time, however considering the horrific injuries he sustained his recovery time was remarkable.” Whilst Paul recovered, the rest of the band turned their efforts to building GRINDSTONE STUDIO for producer/fellow ex-STAMPIN’ GROUND man Scott Atkins.
Since their inception in 2007 Romeo Must Die have hit their post Stampin’ Ground days running, having built a solid underground following touring with the likes of BIOHAZARD, TEXTURES, SYLOSIS, EVILE, as well as their own headline tours of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Holland, Belgium and of course the UK, their tireless work ethic paying dividends.
Their 2008 EP ‘Defined By Enemies’ received top scoring reviews across the board, three months after it’s release the ‘Defined By Enemies’ music video received rotation on SCUZZ TV. “HARDSHIPS IN SEASON” is 49 minutes of throat stampin’, eye-gauging intensity, the likes of which will delight real fans of heavy music.

Hipslinky
Cities Of Glass//The Son//Gabriel Bruce
Signed to Genius twin Recordings, Hipslinky produced one of the most critically acclaimed classic albums of the early millenium( NME 7/10 UNCUT 4/5 ROCKSOUND 4/5), despite skating under many people's radar.
Now de-camped in a home made Barn in deepest Sussex, always described as eccentric, their warped inventiveness and clear intent is back: pop sensibilities jostle with all the right influences from Talking Heads to Edwyn Collins, the idea of Indie getting a slice of danceability ain't new, but when played like this these songs aren't borrowings or overtly indebted to any other band. These chap's tunes are full of ingenuity and of course, above all, Pop.........sing, dance and enjoy.....
Most of them aren’t even 18, but that doesn’t stop Cities of Glass writing the kind of hook that won’t leave your head for days. Soaring vocals, driving beats, shimmering guitar leads and tight bass lines are what their anthemic pop rock sound is about. The boys have spent the last few months trashing out their latest songs through pre-production before locking themselves away in a number of London studios to record them all. The New Year sees their latest offering incorporated into their loud, energetic live set. Make sure you come and see what all the fuss is about.

Thursday 23rd February
Phantom Limb
Billy Irvine//Aqualassie and The Sky Pumas//Karina Vismara
Phantom Limb are an unusual musical prospect, drawing together a range of different sounds and experiences. By day, various members of the group have earned their crust as session musicians, vocalists and songwriters, skirting round the edges of the industry. A glance at their collective musical CV would list collaborations with everyone from Pee Wee Ellis and Percy Sledge to Tom Jones. Charismatic lead singer Yolanda Quartey, who has sung lead spots with Nitin Sawhney and Chase & Status, spent the summer of 2008 touring with Massive Attack, written for Will Young and performed backing vocals for Adele and Dizzee Rascal. By Yolanda’s own admission, though, the band has found it hard remaining in the shadows. “You’re supposed to be able to shrink back,” as she puts it. “I’ve had to play down my voice, and that’s the worst thing, actually.”

Saturday 25th February
Turbogeist
The bottom line, for Turbogeist, is listen to it loud. They're a four-piece rock 'n' roll combo from London. They make a bone-rattling sound that's like a noisy juggernaut of weirdo punk rock colliding with a derailed heavy metal freight train, in a thunderstorm, on a full moon, on Halloween, in a burst of blood and flame, inside a nightmare inside the mind of Freddy Krueger.
Emerging in late 2009 from the wreckage of 'The Sh*t Fists,' their Misfits covers band, best friends Jimmy Jagger and Luis Felber made a pact to start making exactly the sort of music they wanted to hear. No one else, they felt, was really cutting it. "We were sick of the anemic state of the music scene in London," says Jimmy; "Just countless indie clones, and this really niche scene around heavy music. I guess we wanted to straddle both of those spheres somehow."

Monday 27th February
Hildamay & Max Raptor
Kielo
"Now here’s a UK troupe that shows promise in spades. Hildamay’s gruff and powerful delivery is rather reminiscent of mighty Gainesville punk stalwarts Hot Water Music, while there are healthy nods towards Glassjaw and Thrice here too. With promising influences, ‘We Loved, We Lost’ improves as it progresses, with gravelly vocals sailing over power guitar lines and soaring melodies, providing would-be anthems for a potential wall of fists raised skyward. Despite getting off to a shaky start, it serves as an impressive debut in terms of this Sidcup quintet’s future." - Emily Kearns, Rocksound.tv

Born in 1945 in Kenfig Hill, a small Welsh coal-mining village near Bridgend, Howard Marks attended Oxford University where he earned a degree in nuclear physics and post graduate qualifications in philosophy.
