Guitar Day Event: John Williams and Friends
Type: Concert
Sunday 10th March 2013
7.30pm
Venue: University of Surrey Hall
John Williams has built a special relationship with Guildford audiences over previous Festivals. This year he has curated a truly exceptional programme for us as he is joined by Craig Ogden for the first half, mixing duos and solos.
The concert also features a work for violin, two guitars, percussion and double bass that John commissioned from local composer, Steve Goss, to celebrate the City of London Festival's 50th Anniversary. The Flower of the Cities explores the maze-like array of secret gardens, churchyards, and plazas, which is concealed within the densely developed heart of London.
