Olympic Time Trial Race

Wednesday 1st August 2012 (men and women’s events taking place on the same day)

The Olympic Cycling Time Trial event is coming to Surrey and will pass through the Elmbridge area of the county.

This race is against the clock over a distance of 44km for men and 29km for women: riders start 90 seconds apart and whoever completes the course fastest wins.

The Time trial route will start at Hampton Court Palace, and go through the London Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston and the Surrey Borough of Elmbridge.

There will be barriers along the whole of the Time Trial route, which will mean the full route will be closed for the duration of the race plus a couple of hours before and after. Organisers are working hard to ensure that there are crossing points on the route so that communities are not isolated
