Camping and Caravanning

For those of you who really want to get away from it all, the great outdoors awaits you in Surrey. One of the leafiest counties in the UK has a wealth of open air accommodation, suitable for anyone who enjoys camping, caravanning, or just taking the motorhome away for a few days.

Open countryside abounds and this means numerous campsites in which you can stake your claim for a night or more under the stars. Many are open all year, some only seasonally, but all offer a warm welcome and a true escape from the ‘nine to five’. Pitches are available on sites ranging from fields with some shelter, through open parkland with basic amenities, to fully fledged locations with extensive facilities. Many will also welcome pets that are travelling with you.

Those on foot can take advantage of the hostels in the south of the county. Managed by the Youth Hostel Association, these budget rooms can be dormitory style or booked for private use by couples and family groups.

Travelling on the open road is an ideal way to get to know the hidden corners of Surrey. Why not base yourself near one of our ancient market towns and visit a centuries-old coaching inn or two, whilst taking in the historic architecture? Or sample some superb local produce from one of the numerous farmers’ markets, and cook up a feast over an open fire.

Sites can be found near local hostelries, beside farmland and alongside some of our beautiful waterways and lakes. A great way to spend a few days in our beautiful county.
