YHA Hindhead is within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and sits within the Devil's Punch Bowl, a large natural amphitheatre covered with heath, streams and woodland. Footpaths and byways criss-cross the area and long distance trails pass nearby. It also makes a great base for exploring the villages, towns and attractions of Surrey and after a hard day sightseeing you can relax in front of the wood burner or enjoy a barbecue in the courtyard.

Road Directions

Turn off the A3 (Portsmouth Road) onto the narrow track between the Brook turn off and Hindhead crossroads, indicated by YHA signs. Please park in the National Trust car park on the right from where it is a 0.5 mile walk down to the hostel (steep in places) - follow YHA signs.

Public Transport Directions

Nearest bus stop is in Hindhead - approx 1 mile walk to hostel through the Devil’s Punch Bowl.
Stagecoach buses 18 and 19, Haslemere to Aldershot, stop in Hindhead.
