Quality Assurance Scheme

Radisson hotelTo maintain high standards, all the accommodation which is featured on Visit Surrey has been assessed for its quality by either Quality in Tourism (part of Visit Britain) or the AA. Some properties will have applied for an assessment and will be waiting to be graded but please be aware that ratings may change during the year, as the assessments take place on an annual basis.

Visit Britain and the AA now use the same criteria when carrying out their inspections. They award from one to five stars to reflect the overall quality of the experience of staying at each property. Look for the Quality Rose, the symbol that denotes a property has been assessed by Quality in Tourism. As well as the star rating being awarded, it is also possible for properties to be given gold or silver awards to indicate an extra special effort is made at these places. The AA logo is easily recognised with its yellow background.

For guest accommodation, the old diamond ratings that were previously awarded are being replaced by the new star system. Expectations of consumers are higher than ever and the star system reflects this, so it is harder to achieve high ratings with the star system than it was with the diamonds.
