Come to Leatherhead and join in the celebrations! With many events and festivals now firmly established on the calendar, why not arrange your visit to coincide with one of them? The many different events add to the vibrancy of Leatherhead town centre and offer fun for all the family from duck racing on the River Mole to St George’s Day festivities, from Halloween to Christmas celebrations.
There are many hidden gems within Leatherhead and many of the buildings with architectural or historic interest are mentioned on the town’s Heritage Trail. The Leatherhead Theatre being an example which lies at the heart of the town and offers a full cultural programme of shows and the latest films to keep everyone entertained. Every year in May it hosts The Leatherhead Drama Festival where amateur drama groups compete for the coveted ‘Sir Michael Caine Drama Awards’.
The peace and tranquillity of the River Mole can be found just minutes from the town centre. Why not take a leisurely stroll along the riverside path, if you are lucky enough you may spot some of Surrey’s fantastic wildlife along the way. There are plenty of leaflets available at the Help Shop in the High Street to enhance your enjoyment of these and many other local gems.
