History and Heritage
Surrey is a treasure trove of history waiting to be discovered.
Visit Stane Street, the Roman Road visible at Mickleham, following part of the A24 or walk to the iron age fort at Holmbury Hill. Go back in time to the signing of the great charter, the Magna Carta at Runnymede in 1215 or picnic amongst the early English monastic ruins at Waverley Abbey.
For something a little more recent discover the Rural Life Centre, a museum of village life, trades and crafts. Enjoy a walk around the glorious 18th century gardens of Painshill Park or sit in Concorde at Brooklands Museum.
