Weybridge

Mercedes Benz WorldWeybridge is close to the attractions of London yet surrounded by Surrey countryside, and has a long association with motoring and aviation history.

The famous Brooklands racing track at Weybridge was the world’s first purpose built racing circuit and portions of its banked track are still in evidence. The aerodrome on the site also saw the development of the World War Two Wellington bomber and contributed to the design and manufacture of the supersonic Concorde. Brooklands Museum features a fine collection of racing and sports cars, and aeroplanes including the first production Concorde built in Britain.

Also at Brooklands is a new Community Park that provides visitors with 60-acres of stunning country park and a riverside walkway. There are sections of the former motor racing circuit located adjacent to and accessible from the Park, and heritage boards reveal the history and layout of the area.

Elmbridge Museum is located in Church Street above the library, and has a range of interesting exhibits, including artefacts from Henry VIII’s Oatlands Palace, which used to stand at Weybridge.

Weybridge is located in the Borough of Elmbridge.
