Set high on Stan Hill surrounded by the South Downs in 35 acres of ancient wooded countryside, Stanhill Court Hotel was built as a family home for Mr William Young, a Scottish landowner and marine underwriter with Lloyds of London.
The house, constructed in 1881 in the Scottish Baronial style, is rich in pine paneling with elaborate carvings throughout the hall, minstrel's gallery and barrel roof enhanced by a stained-glass window depicting the family coat of arms.
A feature of individually furnished bedrooms, many of which have 4-poster beds, adds to the charm of this delightful hotel that is still small enough to care.
Our Restaurant 1881 is open to non-residents for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You may wish to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in the library, with uninterrupted views, or the Patio Bar which is themed on a Spanish-style courtyard.
Stanhill Court Hotel is versatile and adaptable. Arrangements can be made for a small conference of 5 or a larger seminar for 200, where each client is treated to the same high standard.
