In Surrey in 2016 we will be celebating 150 years since the birth of H.G. Well - one of the nation's greatest science fiction writers.
Join us to celebrate all that Surrey has to offer at the Surrey County Show, the largest one day agricultural show in the UK. A fabulous family day out held each year on the last Bank Holiday Monday of May. From prize cows to cookery demos, local bands, horse shows and rural crafts, the Surrey County Show has been a draw for visitors to the county for over 60 years.
Place your bets on a great day out at one of Surrey's most notable race meetings, the Investec Derby at Epsom Downs Racecourse in June or the William Hill Winter Festival at Kempton Park Racecourse in December.
Or, for the more energetic, retrace the 2012 Olympic cyclists` road race route on the challenging Prudential RideLondon - Surrey 100 and Surrey Classic in July, whilst raising some money for a good cause at the same time.
Dunsfold Aerodrome, home to the famous "Top Gear" programme, also host the extremely popular Wings and Wheels event on the last Bank Holiday weekend in August each year. Attended by over 40,000 people each year, it is a must do event for your 2016 calendar.
Surrey also plays host to the famous Hampton Court Flower show each July and is attended by over 130,000 people. This is a must do for all garden lovers.
