Peter de Savary’s Merry Harriers, Surrey, appoints new General Manager and Head Chef
5th December 2019
Peter and Lana de Savary are delighted to announce the appointment of Jake Andreou as General Manager and David Totterdell as Head Chef at the Merry Harriers, their traditional village inn with llama trekking and luxury accommodation in the picturesque village of Hambledon in the Surrey Hills AONB.
With over fifty years experience in the hospitality industry between them, Jake Andreou and David Totterdall form an impressive team. Andreou graduated from the De Vere Hotels training programme and from there moved on to Macdonald Hotels, followed by a number of years at LHMUK Hotels. Totterdall has held several Head Chef and Restaurant Manager positions within luxury hotels, banqueting halls and independent restaurants. With their knowledge, talent and dynamic leadership skills, they have been given the opportunity to implement ambitious plans for the inn and restaurant. In particular they are looking forward to introducing a seasonally changing menu, a stronger Sunday roast offering, innovative overnight activity packages and broadening the appeal for high end groups.
Since the de Savarys bought the village pub in May 2017, there have been a number of upgrades – from a full refurbishment of the inn and garden rooms to the creation of four traditional inn bedrooms, and most recently, the addition of five stunning luxury Shepherds Huts in Spring 2019.
The de Savarys would like to thank Danielle and Sam Montgomery-Page for their support in managing the Merry Harriers since they took ownership, and for their central role in the success of the inn to his point. They now look forward to handing over the reigns to the new team, and working closely with them to realise even further potential for the Merry Harriers.
