Autumn colour to last even longer at Ramster
24th September 2019
Ramster Garden will open to visitors 11am-4pm every day from 5th October until 3rd November 2019. Visitors will be treated to spectacular autumn sights including the amazing acers which are renowned for their seasonal display of fiery shades of reds and russets.
Visitors who enjoyed Ramster Garden’s superb collection of rhododendrons and azaleas in the spring now have another opportunity to see the garden in all its autumn glory. For the first time ever, the garden will be open for a four-week period giving its loyal audience plenty of time to see the stunning seasonal transformation.
Highlights include the unique 100-year-old avenue of maples, woodland areas with oak and larch, and the American red gum tree Liquidambar which has long-lasting autumn shades of orange, crimson and purple, creating a breath-taking burst of colour.
Rosie Glaister, who runs the 20-acre garden along with other members of her family which span three generations, is passionate about sharing the wonderful autumn sights;
“It was a big decision to open for this extended period as we are only a small team, but the autumn colour is so special the family wanted to share it with our members and visitors for as long as possible. The maples are simply magical and not to be missed.”
During opening times, The Tea House will be serving a selection of delicious cakes, sandwiches, snacks and drinks. Entry fees apply to the garden (seasonal ticket holders free). Dogs on short leads welcome.
