New Illustrated Map Will Welcome Visitors to Epsom
8th April 2021
Go Epsom is pleased to announce that a new, hand illustrated map of Epsom is now available to be picked up, free of charge, in numerous town centre locations.
Created by Surrey artist Clare Mallison, the map focuses on the numerous characters and events in history that made Epsom such a well known town.
From the fame and fortune that Epsom Salts brought to the town through to its megastar residents – Mrs Beeton included, the map is packed with quirky facts and illustrations.
The reverse of the map provides information on shopping, eating out and the history of Epsom. It even features a sneak preview of the Emily Davison statue that will be unveiled in the Market Place in June.
Karen Pengelly of Go Epsom commented “Epsom is a town with a rich and varied history, this map touches on events and personalities that might even surprise local residents, never mind the visitors. It will not only be helpful but it’s beautiful too, Clare Mallison was the perfect artist for this project and we are really happy with her work on this map, it is indeed a work of art”.
