Surrey Staycation
While the world turned upside down in 2020, in some ways things haven't changed for us at Visit Surrey too much: we've always loved the idea of a safe and relaxing staycation holiday in Surrey.
We know that following updated guidance from the government, which requires you to spend more time at home to help keep yourself and others safe, you’ll be keen to use your outside time wisely with this in mind, Visit Surrey is keenly supporting a couple of national tourism intiatives: 'Respect, Protect, Enjoy' and 'Know Before You Go'.
In practise, these simply mean to look after a place and each other while you're visiting it; leave it as you found it by taking your rubbish home etc; and checking and respecting any rules, timings and regulations that may be in place before visiting.
Many of Surrey's most inspiring tourist attractions are currently operating pre-booked entry only, for instance, so make sure to plan ahead before putting your staycation itineraries together.
It will make your staycation or holiday in Surrey more relaxing for you, those around you and the people at the attractions themselves.
With plenty of inspirational gardens including RHS Garden Wisley, Painshill Park in Cobham, Ramster Gardens and the Savill Garden to name but a few, as well as stunning National Trust sites, Surrey has plenty of offer in the way of outdoor attractions.
Surrey is also blessed with beautiful walking countryside and places to relax, so let's make sure to keep it that way for the next visitors seeking scenic inspiration and a little fresh air.
If you already live here, a staycation in Surrey is a great opportunity to discover the amazing towns, villages and places we have on our doorstep.
Whether you're basing your adventures from your own home or you're looking to stay at a luxurious country estate hotel or idyllic countryside camping or glamping site, there are plenty of places to stay in Surrey.
If you have children or grandchildren and are looking to keep them entertained through the autumn half-term, a visit to a local farm, bird park or a trip down the river can be great fun for all. Here are some great ways to enjoy half-term in Surrey.
If we all respect each other and the places we visit, we can all enjoy an amazing staycation in beautiful Surrey this summer.
