Surrey Staycation
Whether you're basing your adventures from your own home or you're looking to stay at a luxurious country estate hotel or idyllic countryside camping or glamping site, there are plenty of places to stay in Surrey.
From mysterious ruins and historic homes to magical garden visits and woodland walks, make time to explore Surrey in 2022. Here, we have picked out some great things to do in the coming months.
- Visit a Surrey vineyard - take a guided tour of a local vineyard and enjoy a sample or two of delicious award-winning English wine. We have some great vineyards for you to visit, including Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking (where there's a vineyard hotel so you can stay a few nights), Albury Vineyard at Albury and Greyfriars Vineyard near Guildford.
- The Deepdene Trail is a magnificent "lost" garden just outside Dorking town centre. Perhaps less well known that neighbouring attractions, such as Box Hill and Leith Hill, but equally beautiful and intriguing. Explore the great gardens and the countryside out to near by villages, and discover its fascinating history along the way.
- Challenge yourself to cycle the 37 mile Downs Link route from Guildford to Shoreham. Starting at St Martha's near Guildford this 37 mile route for walkers and cyclists links the North Downs Way and the South Downs Way, ending in Shoreham-by Sea in West Sussex.
- Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden is an outdoor sculpture gallery, blending the highly abstract with more traditional materials and artworks and a vibrant natural setting near Ockley. Lose yourself among the peace and tranquillity, and leave inspired. It's open until October 31. Surrey is also blessed to have The Sculpture Park in Churt, which is another inspirational destination and open all year.
- Next to Sandown Park racecourse in Esher, Skywalk Adventure is your chance to head to the canopy of the trees and test you balance on the tightropes. If Tarzan were to plan a holiday in Surrey, this aerial adrenaline rush would be on the list. It may be a little different this year at Skywalk Adventure, but it will be just as fun if you've got a head

- One of the world's great gardens, RHS Garden Wisley is home to some of the largest plant collections anywhere in the globe, and is a showcase of inspirational gardening. Planting schemes are constantly evolving to ensure there's always something new to excite and inspire visitors.
- The gardens at Loseley Park in Guildford are comparable with gardens considered national treasures. The Walled Garden, for instance, covers 2.5 acres and is divided into ‘rooms’ each with its own unique planting scheme and personality.
- Walk into the stunning landscape garden at Painshill in Cobham and you will feel a world away from normality and surrounded by magnificence. With so much to explore and discover in the fresh air, as well as expansive grounds to enjoy a picnic with a scenic background, it is a must-visit during summer months.
- Who doesn't love enjoying an indulgent afternoon tea in a gloriously historic mansion setting when the weather begins to draw in? Oatlands Park Hotel in Weybridge is just one marvellous Surrey venue to enjoy such an experience.
