Farnham Maltings is an arts and cultural organisation situated in the heart of Farnham town centre. With a varied performance and events programme, alongside participation work, The Maltings has developed a strong sense of community within the local area and beyond.

Based in a set of buildings formerly used as a tannery and brewery, the Grade II listed building overlooking the River Wey, has a range of unique and versatile spaces. The 410-seat Great Hall hosts live comedy, music, theatre and festivals and regularly screens film, ballet, and opera. Spaces such as the Cellar Bar and Tindle Studio offer the perfect setting for more intimate and smaller-scale performances.

Farnham is a designated craft town and was awarded World City of Craft in 2020. The Maltings helps to preserve Farnham's rich craft tradition by supporting makers of all kinds to thrive. Whether it’s through our nationally renowned programme of craft festivals or dedicated workshop programme, we offer makers from across the UK the opportunity to sell their work and learn new skills. Through our annual programme of festivals – thread, unravel, festival of crafts, quilters and Christmas fair, we welcome over 10,000 visitors to the Maltings.

On the first Saturday of every month, come rain or shine, the maltings monthly market hosts over 200 stalls offering everything from retro treasures, to delicious local produce and local craft designers.

Families visiting the Maltings can enjoy a vibrant programme of theatre shows and participatory workshops catering for all ages from 0 years+.

The Foyer Bar is open Monday to Saturday, 9am-4pm serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks and fresh pastries from SØDT Bakery. In the evening, the fully licensed bar opens 45 minutes before the published start time of events and performances.

The Maltings is home to the Riverside Café which serves a delicious selection of homemade soups, open Danish sandwiches and freshly made main dishes. Lunches are available from Tuesday to Saturday, 11.30am – 2.30pm.
