August Bank Holiday Weekend - Things to Do, Events & Activities in Surrey

Okay, so we might be a little biased at Visit Surrey, but we really think there's no better place to be over the August bank holiday weekend than in Surrey. 

From hiring your own boat and drifting down the River Thames to indulging in delicious food and drink at Denbies Vineyard followed by a walk along the 7 miles of public footpath which trail throughout the vineyard, there's so much to do here in our beautiful county.

Hampton Court Food Festival

Discover delicious food, live music and activities for all ages at Henry VIII's palace tat Hampton Court - Saturday - Bank Holiday Monday. 

Step on board Concorde

Head to the award-winning Brooklands Museum in Weybridge where you will find the only accessible Concorde in south east England. See, hear and feel Concorde as you enjoy a virtual flight like no other. Pre-booking is highly recommended, as the tours book up very quickly.

Explore arts and crafts

Watts Gallery in Compton is a lovely Arts & Crafts destination showcasing the great talent and art works by Victorian artists Mary and GF Watt. It is truly one of Surrey's hidden treasures for art lovers and inquisitive minds.

Enjoy a day at RHS Garden Wisley

For a fantastic day out for all the family, head to RHS Garden Wisley and take a stroll around the spectacular gardens. Enjoy themed crafts, garden games and storytelling and more.

For the adventurous

Go and enjoy Surrey's amazing new outdoor adventure park, Skywalk Adventure. Pick up some speed on the zip wire, clamber across rickety bridges and test your balance on the tightropes. All the while enjoying breathtaking views over Sandown Park Racecourse, and right across London.

Breathe in the air

With your camera in hand, head off to enchanting Painshill in Cobham, with its crystal grotto, waterwheel, and mystical follies or make a visit to the inspiring The Sculpture Park near Churt, where you will find over 800 pieces of sculpture waiting for you to discover. 

Sample a Surrey tipple

Taste some locally produced fine beer, gin and wine and one of our amazing vineyards, distilleries or breweries here in Surrey

Search out a picnic spot

Get your blankets and baskets of Surrey food and drink at the ready and head outdoors for a picnic in Surrey. Enjoy some water sports 

The Aqua Sports Company is a lake-based watersports centre set in the beautiful Mercers Park on the doorstep of Redhill, south east London and Gatwick. Their dedicated, friendly team of instructors just love being out on the water teaching dinghy sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing and windsurfing to children and adults.
