Autumn in Surrey
Visit Surrey this autumn and discover iconic sites, picturesque towns and villages, cosy pubs and coffee shops, and the chance to escape to the countryside as the seasons change.
As England's most wooded county, Surrey really comes to life during the autumn months.
Despite being on the doorstep of London, you'll feel like you're a world away while exploring the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and our enchanting woodlands and gardens.
With so much to see and do over the autumn months, here we shine the Visit Surrey spotlight on just some of your potential destinations this autumn in Surrey.
- For more than 200 years, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has been the force behind the nation’s love of gardening - and a shining example of their work is the charity’s flagship garden, RHS Garden Wisley, which is one of the UK’s most visited and best-loved gardens.
- Ramster Gardens is a much-loved hidden gem in Chiddingfold. It is set to showcase its autumn colours from Saturday September 24 until Sunday November 6 (excluding Mondays and Tuesdays). Visitors will be treated to spectacular autumn sights, including the amazing acers.
- The 265 acres of vines at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, ablaze with striking golds, splashes of reds and vibrant greens, are picture perfect as the harvest gets underway. There is a great selection of events taking place throughout the season at Denbies, so make sure you visit the vineyard this autumn.
- The Sculpture Park is sited within 10 acres of woodland, lakes and streams, and it's home to more than 600 ever-changing sculptures meaning there is always something new to discover.
- October is Craft Month in Farnham, which means a packed programme of workshops, exhibitions, craft fairs and trails - many of which are free. Dozens of crafts feature throughout the month, from glass blowing, sculpting, metal work and photography to more familiar crafts such as knitting and card making.
- Too much to pack into a day trip? Then why not make a weekend of it or extend your stay with a hotel break in Surrey?
