The Knife Angel comes to Guildford Cathedral

As the national monument for anti-aggression, The Knife Angel’s singular objective is to bring about social change by educating children, young people and adults about the harmful effects that violent behaviour has on communities all across our nation and  raise awareness of the impact of violence and aggression in our community – including bullying, domestic abuse, hate language and the carrying and using of weapons.

The Knife Angel is a stunning 27ft, 3.5 ton sculpture of an angel made out of 100,000 confiscated knives received from 43 Police Forces across the UK. Originating from The British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry and created by sculptor Alfie Bradley, it has been on tour of towns and cities around Britain raising awareness of the issues of knife crime and all forms of violence and aggression.

The Knife Angel will be at Guildford Cathedral during March 2023. During its visit, we will run a series of events and workshops to raise awareness of violent crime.

Are you a Surrey Business? By far one of the biggest costs is the security for the Monument.  One day of security costs £340 - the monument arrives on 27th February from Gloucester.
