King's Coronation Celebrations in Guildford

On Saturday 6 May, King Charles III will be crowned in Westminster Abbey.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, national celebrations to mark the event will take place over the long weekend of Saturday 6 to Monday 8 May. Guildford’s beautiful historic High Street will be ablaze with colour as bunting will be hung across the High Street.
CORONATION STREET PARTY ROAD CLOSURES
To mark the Coronation, any road closure application over the bank holiday from Friday 5 May to Monday 8 May will be free. If you would like to hold a street party or celebration, you must apply by the deadline of 3 April 2023. Find out more about hosting your own event in Guildford.

Neighbours and communities across the United Kingdom are invited to share food and fun together at Coronation Big Lunches on Sunday 7 May 2023. Get involved
THE BIG HELP OUT
The Big Help Out will be held on Monday, 8 May 2023, a special bank holiday commissioned by The King to celebrate volunteering. In tribute to His Majesty The King's public service, The Big Help Out will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas.
