A beacon of gastronomic excellence, a Michelin star is a prized possession for many an ambitious chef. It denotes that a restaurant offers exceptional food, service and ambiance, and it is a status that is recognised around the world.
Earlier this month, the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2025 was launched to great fanfare – and we’re delighted to share that Surrey has a brand-new Michelin star restaurant: Starling Bistro in Esher.
Opened in August, Starling is a neighbourhood bistro by Great British Menu winner Nick Beardshaw.
Starling is in good company, joining The Dysart Petersham, Latymer at Pennyhill Park, Steve Drake’s Sorrel and Great Fosters’ The Tudor Pass in putting Surrey on the map with a prestigious Michelin star.
Elsewhere in the latest foodie guide, Dastaan in Ewell and Mignonette Bistro in Richmond hold Bib Gourmand awards (an award given to Michelin’s best value for money restaurants) and Petersham Nurseries has a Michelin Green Star.
Congratulations to all our Surrey stars.
