London Bus Museum

Owned by the London Bus Preservation Trust and situated on the Brooklands Museum site, the London Bus Museum offers horse-drawn buses of the 1870s to the driver operated, rear-engine 70 seater double deckers  of the 1970s, the London Bus Museum, housed in a purpose built building, is a fascinating place to visit with over thirty vehicles from its collection on display at any one time. Some of the vehicles have appeared in film and television programmes and some are open to climb aboard. There are also a wide variety of exhibits and artefacts from London Transport’s history. 

Open almost every day of the year, the museum normally also offers local trips on an historic bus during school holidays and most weekends and there are children’s activities and exhibits. 

The Museum is wholly staffed by volunteers coming 100 with a vast selection of backgrounds and the stewards are friendly and informative and can answer most questions about buses and not just in London.
