Top 10 places to see spring flowers in Surrey

From March, Surrey is awash with colour as the spring flowers including bluebells burst into bloom. Here are a few of the best gardens, parks and woodlands to explore and enjoy the blossoms as spring arrives in Surrey.
It is always best to contact the garden or park before your visit for a "bloom status" update.
Where: RHS Garden Wisley, Woking, Surrey GU23 6QB
RHS Garden Wisley is well worth a visit throughout the year, but in March the carpets of crocus and daffodils are quite spectacular. This is quickly followed by the most glorious colours as the camellia's magnolias and rhododendrons start to bloom.

Painshill, an oasis of calm is a joy to walk around in the springtime. The wild daffodils are glowing with sunshine yellow guaranteed to brighten up even the dullest March day and bluebells in April are a highlight of walk around these stunning 18th century landscape gardens.

A walk around the grounds of Guildford Castle Grounds makes a wonderful experience for both the eye and nose at springtime. The vivid tulip beds are simply spectacular in April.
6. Gatton Park

The best spot to see stunning displays of snowdrops in February is the rock garden at Gatton Park. The woodlands that stretch all the way up to Reigate Hill come alive with spectacular bluebells displays in May.

There is a real beauty and serenity at Hatchland Park in late April when the grounds are carpeted in a haze of blue as the bluebells start to bloom. With trails and an amazing natural adventure area, Wizard Wix’s, there is also plenty to keep the kids occupied.

Winkworth Arboretum and the explosion of colour when the rhododendrons bloom is quite spectacular!
10. Bushy Park – Woodland Garden

Signed trails take you through the best of the spring flowers, from daffodils in late March to the bluebell carpets of April and May. There are plenty of places to sit and take in the view.
