Wild play at National Trust Hatchlands Park

Fire up their imaginations with natural play and walks in wonderful places here in Surrey. Head to Hatchlands Park where you will discover the  Great Wix Wood. As you enter the wood, you'll find Wizard Wix's Willow Warren, a natural adventure area for children. This is the perfect spot to run around, get active and enjoy nature.  Underneath the trees you'll find a big pile of logs, branches, bark and leaves. You can play with them however you like but they're great for making dens.

Toddler Takeover at Airhop Guildford

Toddler Takeover is for kids from 1 to 6 years old so they can jump to their heart’s content in a 100% safe environment.
Toddler Takeover have access to a variety of activities within the park which currently including, Dodgeball Court, Slamdunk Lanes – bouncy lanes with mini basket ball hoops, Wipeout as well as the Main Court.  These activities are available to all little ones regardless of ability. Our friendly team will also be on hand to make sure that everyone has as much fun as possible.  Plus there are some mini football goals, basketball hoops as well as ride-ons and some sensory toys available.  At the end of each session its BUBBLE TIME and some special guests will visit each session.

 

Alice Holt Forest

The Gruffalo Trail never fails to please young children.  If you venture into the deep dark wood you may bump into the Gruffalo and other characters from Julia Donaldson's fantastic story! Each sculpture has been carved in a different position completely unique to Alice Holt Forest, and they bring this much-loved story to life in the forest.  

 

Animal encounters 

The British Wildlife Centre is the perfect to meet British Wildlife in their natural habitats or you can meet sweet animals in our farm parks, Bocketts Farm, Godstone Farm and Elm Farm.  At Merrist Wood children can spend the day with the Animal Keepers learning how to look after all the different species of animals, giving a unique experience, ideal for gifts.

 

National Trust Claremont Landscape Garden

Queen Victoria used to play at Claremont as a child, and now so can you, with scaled-down versions of Claremont's garden features, including the grass amphitheatre and Belvedere Tower. Explore the pavilion, glide down the slide and scale the ladders and the climbing wall.
With covered areas and an all-weather surface, you can have fun no matter what the British weather is doing. The play area is ideal for younger children and parents with pushchairs. Find it near the cafe and toilets.  In the summer there are plenty of picnic benches and secluded spots for al fresco eats.

 

Birdworld, near Farnham

Little ones will love to see the penguins being fed, the colourful array of  birds in their enclosures and meet the fluffier residents at  The Jenny Wren Farm.   There is so much to see and do at Birdworld - it really is the perfect place for children and parents alike
